More than just a Level 0 funnel adventure for Dungeon Crawl Classics, All Roads Lead to Conquest introduces a simple minigame system that makes it easy to game out large-scale battles in a story-rich way, Conquest. With Conquest, you can use coins or miniatures for units, playing cards for PCs or heroes, and a chessboard or simple grid map for the battlefield. You need only a D6 to create distinct and exciting stories of the battle, ideal for a thrilling experience and inspiring for future RPG adventures in your campaign.
All Roads Lead to Conquest highlights how Conquest can be adapted to RPG systems designed for combat, puzzles, or social interactions, by delivering a fresh take on the DCC funnel. Suitable for 16-24 characters played by four to eight players, this adventure offers three distinct paths that challenge players in distinctly different ways.
- The Path of Combat is a grueling version of the conventional DCC funnel, pitting characters against a variety of battles designed to push to the very limits of a Total Party Kill (TPK).
- The Path of Cunning, by contrast, thrusts the player characters into the twisted social dynamic of the enemy camp, challenging their abilities of manipulation and subterfuge.
- And The Path of Courage plunges them into the puzzle-focused tomb of a demigod giant, where failure to find solutions means death.
